Face Freckles
Freckles are small brown spots that appear on the skin. They occur due to an overproduction of melanin and are usually more common in people with light skin (skin types I, II, III). They don’t pose any health risks or aren’t painful or harmful, but presently, no known health benefits. Freckles are believed to be genetic but can also occur due to staying outside in the sun without adequate protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally, freckles don’t disappear with age. While they can fade or become less noticeable over time, they never truly disappear. There are ways to make them less visible, such as decreasing your exposure to the sun and applying sunscreen. Since they won’t ever fade, getting professional treatments is the only way to remove them.

There are many different types of freckles, and they can differ in appearance and colour. The most common type of freckles are ephelides which usually appear light brown, tan, or red. Lentigines are darker and can be associated with aging or sun damage. Remember, if you have any new or different coloured spots, you must see your doctor to assess them.

Please Note: Please provide a doctor assessment report for any new or different coloured spots to make sure that they are freckles and safe to treat.
